Pearly's channel line is *Films for those still figuring it out.* The display name is baobaopearly, the handle is pearlywong. On 24 May 2023 she posted *how I learned English by myself in a lazy way without studying*. A week later, on 31 May 2023, she posted *Taiwanese Polyglot Speaking in 6 Languages*, which she calls her language learning journey. The chapters of that second video are Japanese, Hakka, French, Mandarin, English, Arabic.

The video text does not give childhood scenes for each language, and she does not write how she began each one, only that she will try speaking them, in the order listed. Taiwanese is in the title of the six-language video. Hakka is listed between Japanese and French. Mandarin is marked with a Taiwan flag in the chapter line. English and Arabic are the last two chapters.

Under the English video she lists these chapter titles: a zero-stress start; an entertaining method; tips on choosing which video to watch; involve your emotion; a chapter titled as a question, *do I look up new words*; the best way to improve speaking; the great way to improve writing; a method she calls challenging but very effective; a mindset; a motivation. Those headings are the written record used here; the videos do not say what she watches, what she writes, or what the challenging method is.

In her telling she learned English without treating it as study. A week later she posted the six-language video, spoke all six, and called it a challenge. She writes YAY.
